Spring 2024: The Best Trends and How to Wear Them
Whether it’s quiet luxury or mob wife aesthetic, I think we can all safely say we’re done with all the winter fashion trends and will warmly welcome spring fashion. Spring fashion trends are often seen as the most predictable, the least innovative: flowers, pastels, sundresses, not too much room to reinvent the wheel.
It can feel very constraining on personal style, edgy rocker isn’t the first thing that comes to mind when you think of spring fashion. And while this year ‘girlcore’ has definitely heightened an already feminine spring season, we also have some edgier trends thanks to the likes of Schiaparelli and Alexander McQueen.
Each year there is a swarm of trends, and I’ll be the first to tell you that you don’t have to do them all. I’ve picked out my favorites, and suggest you pick out 1-2 from this list that intrigue you the most and challenge yourself to incorporate it during this season. New trends aren’t about changing our look, it’s about adding a more contemporary twist to our core style.
Without further ado, here are my favorite spring 2024 trends and how to wear them!
Sculptural Volumes
I always love trends that pull in from the avant-garde side of fashion and bring it into the mainstream. This spring, you’ll see a lot of volume but also a lot of well-chosen cinching to create statuesque-like forms. Pair a voluminous top with some long pants to add volume but keep a lean long look.
Apron
Maybe it’s the sight of Jeremy Allen White in an apron in The Bear, but this new trend is going to be everywhere in 2024. This is the perfect neckline as the weather gets warmer, and for anyone who likes simple, clean lines. Try pairing a shirt with some linen pants, or wearing a button-down underneath to also make it into a work-appropriate outfit.
Light White Dresses
White is always “in” the moment we can start getting a tan, but this year we’re pushing the envelope a bit. Many of the white dresses you’ll see will be a bit on the sheerer side so you can always style it with a blazer to make it more formal. While beige was big last year, I’m really liking the black-and-white look.
Roses
“Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking.” Miranda Priestl, from the Devil Wears Prada movie, may not be a fan of florals but I think she would be of the roses trend this year. If you’ve seen any awards show red carpet looks you’ll have noticed that roses are everywhere, and not printed, literally sculpted roses of texture. My styling tip is to strip down on everything else, simple bag and simple shoes, to keep the eyes on the artwork you’ll be wearing.
Extra High-Rise Pants
Victoria Beckham may have had a hand in this trend, the queen of the high-rise has always managed to make her rather petite figure look almost statuesque. You can always wear it a-la VB, with a button-down shirt, or try it with a tank top for an edgier look.
Basic with a Twist
Basics are always in, but this year we’re choosing basics with some cut outs or off-the-shoulder tops. If you’re more comfortable with basics this is the perfect trend to try out. You get to keep your reliable outfits but add just a small twist to your look.
This spring I will be incorporating more sculptural volumes and adding the apron style into my wardrobe.
Which ones will you pick? Now it’s up to you to decide which trends are best for you, or if you’re feeling like taking risks, the one that seems most out of your comfort zone.
Take advantage of the stay-at-home cold weather to refresh your wardrobe and plan your outfits for Spring ahead of time, because as soon as the first flowers bloom, you know you’ll barely have any time to get dressed!

Lili
