Reflections, Intentions, and Small Changes: A Resolution-Free Approach to the New Year

As the year transitions and resolutions become a common topic of conversation, I find myself reflecting on my own approach to the new year. I recently had a conversation with my husband about resolutions, and it became apparent that I'm not one for making grand resolutions. The pressure they impose can sometimes overshadow the positive intentions behind them. In a world where many strive for perfection, I've come to realize that it's okay not to be flawless, and seeking support is a strength we should embrace. Thankfully, my incredible clients allow me to alleviate the shopping and image pressure they may feel.

Resolutions may not be my cup of tea, but making small changes certainly is. When you think about it, sticking to those small changes throughout the year can lead to significant progress. One notable shift in my life has been embracing a healthier lifestyle. Over the years, I've gradually let go of some of my French diet habits - a baguette, wine, and cheese diet is great when you are in your 20s, but now as I navigate my late 30s, my body is reminding me that balance is key.

Also, I am defining what a healthy lifestyle is for me. Nowadays, with social media, everyone is an expert and tells you how you should eat, do, live. Shutting down all of that and listening to just what feels right for me made me more serene in how I approach my health.

In 2022, I recognized that my love for my job, and my clients, had consumed my life a bit too much. The expansion of my team in 2023 brought positive changes, allowing me to travel during the summer and focus on new projects. In 2024, I hope to continue this trend, traveling more and finding an even healthier work-life balance without compromising my primary goal to support my clients. With that said, I have been on an exciting journey to introduce new ways to do so. I launched two online courses, one centered around defining your best colors using the 4-season color analysis, and another focused on revamping your professional wardrobe and image. I have many other ideas and can’t wait to share them with you! (And don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any ideas for me on how I could help you.)

While resolutions are off the table, intentional goals take center stage. I advocate for positive habits, personal development, and progress over perfection. It's a flexible framework for growth that resonates with my clients and my own journey. Personal growth is not confined to the boundaries of a single year; it's a continuous process. This mindset also invites my clients and myself to embrace style and image change and refinement over time.

In a world captivated by the allure of New Year's resolutions, I prefer to approach once again this new year with a resolution-free approach that focuses on reflection, intentional goals, and the ever-evolving journey of self-discovery. As you navigate the year ahead, I hope it will be filled with balance and the joy of embracing your authentic self!

Bisous,

Lili
