Fall/Winter 2024 Fashion Week Highlights
Fashion week - or fashion month - is a non-stop cycle of headlines and eye-catching images. The amount of information is overwhelming especially when you lead a busy life. As usual, I’ve gathered my favorite things from 2024 Fall/Winter Fashion Week for you.
Runways - and fashion in general - can sometimes feel detached from our everyday life, but if anyone has seen The Devil Wears Prada, you know that’s not the case. So in this little cheat sheet, I’ll show you how you can take the trends from fashion week into your own style.
Must-See Fashion Week Show
Giorgio Armani leans into the style that first made him a household name, the show feels like a blast from the past but with a modern touch. I particularly loved his “winter flowers”, the idea feels fresh, mystical and sparkled on his beautiful simple evening dresses.
Honorable Mention Fashion Show
Matthieu Blazy at the helm of Bottega Venetta is the gift that keeps on giving. He has no shortage of creativity and the courage to put it out there. My favorite thing in the show was how he played with fringe, and I can’t wait for it to be as big of a trend as palettes were this past winter.
Our Accessory Obsession
Biggest bag trend? The giant clutch. Victoria Beckham has always been a huge proponent of the giant bag but it does feel like since the release of her own bag line the trend is actually catching on. What’s great about the giant clutch? You can actually take it to business meetings because it fits more than your phone and lipstick.
Another major accessory trend is tights and socks with heels, and especially kitten heels. Question is - will you dare try this trend? My tip is to go for something simple at first, like black socks and some red slingback heels.
Favorite Front-Row Moment
Paris Fashion Week always gives the most talked about moments, and one of my favorites is Saint Laurent’s free-the-nipple moment. Both on the runway and in the front row, everyone embraced the sheer sexy trend for Winter. Will you? Of course, we don’t have to go all the way and show our breasts, but with a lace black bralette - it can be as sexy, or even more.
But what about front-row moments we can’t capture? Well, everyone’s still talking about The Row’s no pictures or videos policy. I don’t know about you but it just makes me want to see the collection more!
Bisous,
Lili
